1946. 5. 20 미국 캘리포니아 주 엘센트로~ .미국 영화배우, 가수. 본명은 셰릴 사르키시안. 1987년 〈문스트럭 Moonstruck〉에서 로리타 카스토리니 역으로 아카데미상 여우주연상을 수상했다. 셰어는 영화배우로 알려지기 전에 대중가수, 텔레비전 배우, 나이트클럽 연예인으로 인기를 얻었다. 그녀는 1964년 소니 보노와 결혼해, 둘이 포크록 듀오 소니와 셰어를 결성했다. 그들은 1965년에 히트곡 〈I Got You, Babe〉를 녹음했고, 뮤지컬 순회공연에 참여했으며, 2편의 영화에 출연했고, 1970년대의 인기 있는 코미디 버라이어티 쇼에서는 사회를 보았다. 셰어는 1975년 보노와 이혼한 후 선정적인 신문에 자주 등장하는 유명인사가 되었으며, 보브 매키가 디자인한 요부형의 옷을 자주 입었다. 셰어는 1980년대에 라스베이거스의 라운지 무대에서 활동했으나 곧 영화로 방향을 바꾸어 〈Come Back to the Five & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean〉(1982)과 〈실크우드 Silkwood〉(1983)에 출연했으며, 〈실크우드〉로 아카데미상 후보에 올랐다. 이어 〈마스크 Mask〉(1985)에서 오토바이를 타고 다니며 기형아 아들을 돌보는 어머니 역으로 칸 영화제에서 여우주연상을 수상했다. 1987년에는 〈문스트럭〉에서 약혼자의 남동생과 사랑에 빠지는 이탈리아계 미국인 과부 로리타 카스토리니 역을 맡아 아카데미상을 거머쥐었다
