1967년 5월 9일 Norway, Hastard에서 출생. 오슬로 음악원을 만점 졸업했고 노르웨이, 덴마크, 독일에서 6년간 공부 후  미국 New York로 왔다.   Luciano Pavarotti의 제안으로 Dr. William Riley (Celine Dion, Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli등의 코치)에게 사사하였다. pop과 classic까지 3옥타브의 음역을 소화하는 청아한 목소리의 소유자로 소위 '팝페라'(Classical crossover) 가수이다. Sissel. Secret Garden과 함께 노르웨이 출신 Crystal Clear Voice  3인방이라고 불린다. The Prayer는 Cecilia의 4번째 앨범 Inner Harmony(1999년)에 수록된 곡으로  수정처럼 맑은 목소리가 무엇인가를 느끼게 하는 곡이다.
