Matt Monro는 1935년에 태어나 1985년 암으로 사망하여 비교적 젊은 50세 나이에 생을 마감한 가수이다. 그는 30여년 동안 스탠다드 팝으로 많은 인기를 누렸다.   1956년 Everybody Falls in Love with Someone으로 데뷔하여, 히트곡으로는,'The Music Played', 'Walk Away', 'Wednesday's Child'를 비롯해 우리에게는 007 제임스본드 시리즈 두번째 작품 From Russia With Love(63)로, 국내에서는 '007위기일발'이라는 제목으로 1965년 개봉되었던 영화의 OST로  잘 알려진 곡이 있는 가수 이다.
