로맨틱하고 편안한 바리톤 목소리와 색다른 가사의 발라드로 유명한 Perry Como는 1912년 5월 18일 미국의 펜실베니아 케논스버그에서 태어났다. 본명은 'Pierino Como` 로 그의 음악사의 출발은 1933년 그가 고향을 떠나 Freddie Carlone 의 밴드와 투어를 시작하면서였다. 그에게 찾아온 큰기회는 1936년 트럼본 연주자 Ted Weems의 밴드에 들어가 라디오 프로그램에 출연하면서 부터 였는데1942년 밴드가 해체되면서 그는 밴드를 떠났고 그 다음해 RCA레코드사와 계약을 맺게 되었다.   그후 `Long Ago And Far Away`, `I`m Conna Love That girl` 등을 히트시켰으며, 1945년 쇼펭의 `Polonais In A-Flat Major` 를 샘플링한곡 `Till The End Of Love` 로 미국차트의 정상을 석권하였다. 또 한 40대 후반에는 미국차트에서 대성공을 이룬 `Did You Ever Get That Feeling In The Moonight?` 외 수많은 곡들을 히트시켰다.
