1931년 본명 Edith Gormezano로 미국 뉴욕주에서 출생하였다. 1957년 당시 인기 가수였던 Steve Lawrence와 결혼을 하고 1962년 Yes My Darling Daughter, 1963년 Blame it on the Bossa Nova등 Top 10 히트곡을 기록 했다. 1970년대는 라틴음악을 주로 발표 하였다.
