Annie Haslam (애니 해슬램)    음악적으로 가장 이상적인 그녀의 동반자는 바로 클래시컬 록의 대명사 격으로 군림해온 밴드'르네상스(Renaissance)'였고, 그녀의 목소리가 가장 화려한 빛을 내뿜었던 때 역시 르네상스의 전성 시절인 1972년에서 1978년에 이르는 시기라 할 수 있다.   하지만 애니 해슬램의 아름다운 목소리는 밴드에서만 빛을 발했던건 아니다. 그녀는 밴드의 전성기인 1977년에 데뷔작을 발표한 이래 2006년까지 여섯장의 솔로 앨범을 발표하여 자신의 매력을 과시했다.   애니의 솔로 앨범들은 음악적 완성도 면에서 그리 높은 평가를 받고 있지는 않지만, 오랜 친분을 두고 있던 루이스 클락(Louis Clark)과 Royal Philharmonic Orchestra)와 로얄 합창단(Royal Choral Society)을 이끌고 유명한 클래식 소품들에 가사를 붙인 곡들을 가지고 작업하여 루이스 클락 특유의 귀에 쉽게 들어오는 편곡과 애니의 목소리와 더불어 가장 편안히 들을 수 있는 팝 클래식 크로스오버를 이루었고, 서정적인 가사는 마음 속의 따스한 정서를 자극하여 소박한 감동을 불러일으켰다. 흐르는 곡 역시 차이코프스키의 '백조의 호수'중 정경을 편곡한 곡으로 클래식 명곡이 안겨주는 서정성과 친숙한 멜로디, 그리고 스트링 오케스트레이션의 조화에 그녀가 들려주는 천상의 화음은 우리에게 최상의 감동을 안겨준다.
