Alessia Cara (알레시아 카라) 는  1996년 7월 11일생으로 그녀는캐나다의 싱어송라이터이다. 대표곡은 "Here"이고,  Zedd와 같이한 "Stay"도 유명하다. October. 2019년 발매되었고 노래가 참 매력이 있어서 알게된 가수였고 목소리가 상당히 매력적이라 이 가수의 노래를 더 찾아듣게 되기도 했다. 어린가수의 노래인 만큼 감성도 조금은 요즘스러운 느낌이다. October는 10월을 뜻하는 영어 단어이다. 로마 제국의 초대 황제의 이름인 옥타비아누스 (Octavianus)에서 유래된 말이기도 하다. 뿐만 아니라 라틴어와 그리스어로는 숫자 8인을 의미하는 oct에서 유래된 것이라고도 하는데, 기원전 3세기경 달력을 고치게 됨으로써 2개월 늦춰진 이름이 되었다고 한다. 10월에는 여러 가지 행사가 있는데,  대표적으로 아이들과 어른들이 즐기는 핼러윈 파티가 있다. 핼러윈은 10월 31일 밤에 벌어지는 연례 풍속 행사 인데, 호박으로 얼굴 모양을 만들어서 유령이나 괴물과 비슷한 분장을 하고 행렬을 하며 무도회를 벌이기도 한다. 또한 10월이라는 제목을 가진 팝송도 있는데, 그리스도교 축일인 만성절 전날 미국 전역에서 벌이는 축제로 알려져 있다. Alessia Cara의 october 라는 노래 가사는 두 사람 사이에 10월이 오지 않기를 바라는 내용을 담고 있다. 또한, Barry Manilow의 When October Goes라는 노래에서는 10월이 지나가는 것에 대한 아쉬움을 가사에 담고 있기도 하다.
