Patsy Cline 칸추리 40대 여가수 1위로 선정된 가수 (40 Greatest Women in Country Music) 1932년 미국 Virginia 주에서 Virginia Patterson Hensley로 태어나 1953년 Gerald Cline과 결혼후 Patsy Cline이라는 이름 사용. 1954년 Four Star Records와 계약을 하며 가수로 데뷰하여 1956년 Walk After Midnight라는 히트곡을 발표하였으나 그후 몇년간 후속히트가 없었음. 1960년 I Fall to Pieces가 컨츄리챠트 1위, 팝챠트 12위에 오르며 그녀의 진가가 인정되며 61년부터 Crazy, She's Got You등이 연달아 히트하며 명성을 얻게되었으나 1963년 비행기 추락사고로 30세로 타계함. 사후에 Sweet Dreams, Faded Love등이 발표되고 잇달아 히트하며 미국 컨츄리계의 여왕으로 인정받음.
